Community Mourns the Loss of Chantelle Leshae Gray
Newberry, South Carolina – The heart of our small town is heavy as we come together to remember a beloved member of our community. Ms. Chantelle Leshae Gray left this world on February 11, 2024, surrounded by love and warmth. A native of Newberry, she was born to Sharon Booker Gray and Curtis L. Gray and attended the Old Beaver Dam Missionary Baptist Church, which she considered a second home.
A Life Well-Lived
Chantelle graduated from Newberry High School, where she made lasting friendships and left a mark on those who knew her. She had a career at Samsung, where colleagues often spoke of her infectious smile and willingness to lend a helping hand. Chantelle was not just an employee; she was a friend and a confidant to many.
She cherished her family deeply. Chantelle is survived by her loving mother, Sharon, father, Curtis, sister Randetta L. Atchison, and brother Curtis J. Gray. Her grandparents, Earl and Mary Gray as well as Elnora Booker and Reverend John Booker, were always proud of her achievements. The family emphasized that while she may have left this world, her spirit will continue to light up their lives.
Friends and Family Remember
Chantelle will be dearly missed by a plethora of relatives and friends, including six aunts and numerous uncles. Among those who hold her memory dearly are Roshell Reeder, Tekeema James, Bernadette Lane, Sherita Booker, Karen Gray, and Wendy Joiner. Uncles like Dexter Booker, Marcus Booker, and Randy Gray have all shared loving stories about her kindness and humor.
Chantelle was also a fun and adoring aunt to her two nieces, Azaria McClurkin and Cayleigh Gray, and to her nephews, Charles A. McClurkin and Cree Lemire. She was always there to create beautiful memories and spread joy.
Celebration of Life
A Celebration of Life service in her honor will take place on Monday, February 19, 2024, at 2:00 pm at the Bethlehem Baptist Church. Friends and family are invited to gather and celebrate the life of this wonderful human being. Burial will follow at the Newberry Memorial Gardens, where her loved ones plan to create a resting place that reflects her vibrant spirit.
Public Viewing Arrangements
Before the service, a public viewing will be held on Sunday, February 18, 2024, from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Fred B. Pratt Memorial Chapel. This will be a time for everyone to come together to share in their grief and to celebrate the incredible legacy that one person can leave behind.
