Newberry, South Carolina: A Life Remembered
In a somber and heartfelt moment for the community of Newberry, South Carolina, friends and family are coming together to celebrate the life of the beloved Mrs. Takissa La’sonya Caldwell. Mrs. Caldwell, a tender-hearted spirit who dedicated over 16 years to caring for others as a nurse, transitioned into Eternal Rest on March 4, 2024, at the Prisma Health Richland Hospital.
A Caring Soul
Mrs. Caldwell was born in Newberry to her proud parents, Edward Hunter and Evion Henderson Hunter. A shining star in her community since her high school days, she graduated from Newberry High School and further broadened her horizons at Piedmont Technical College. Throughout her career, Mrs. Caldwell poured her heart into nursing. Her commitment took her to various nursing homes, including Jessie F. Hawkins Nursing Home in Newberry, Lowman Home Nursing Home in White Rock, SC, and most recently, she brought her skills to NHC Healthcare in Clinton, SC.
A Foundation of Faith
Beyond her professional life, Mrs. Caldwell was a beacon of light in her spiritual community. She was a dedicated member of the New Enoree Baptist Church, where her faith and kindness touched the lives of those around her. She stood by her community through thick and thin, offering her unwavering support.
Family and Friends
Taking comfort in memories, Mrs. Caldwell leaves behind a loving family. She is survived by her devoted husband, Sean Edward Caldwell, and their beloved daughter, Brittany Shaeday Caldwell, along with her cherished grandson, La’sean Johnathan Caldwell-Jones. Her immediate family includes her adoring parents, Edward and Evion Hunter, a sister named Tiffany Hunter, and brothers, Eric Hunter and Eltric Henderson. Her mother-in-law, Patricia H. Caldwell, and a wealth of aunts, uncles, other relatives, and friends also hold her memory dear.
A Celebration of Life
In honor of Mrs. Caldwell’s legacy, a Celebration of Life Service will take place on Sunday, March 10, 2024, at 2:00 PM, at the New Enoree Baptist Church. This service will allow everyone who knew and loved her to gather, share stories, and celebrate the wonderful life she lived.
Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Newberry Memorial Gardens Cemetery. For those wishing to pay their respects, there will be a public viewing on Saturday, March 9, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Fred B. Pratt Memorial Chapel.
