In Cincinnati, high school basketball action heated up with several competitive matchups this week.

St. Henry kicked off their season with a strong win against the Cincinnati Trailblazers, finishing with a score of 62-30. St. Henry surged ahead, leading 38-16 by halftime. Notable performances came from McIntire, who scored 13 points, and Reis with 11 points. The Trailblazers struggled to find their rhythm, with Enders leading his team with just 8 points.

Another exciting game was Beechwood defeating Grant County 61-47. The Bees built their lead throughout the game, showcasing a balanced offense. Meanwhile, Highlands dominated Scott with a convincing score of 77-62.

Newport also had a solid performance beating Dayton 65-26, establishing an early lead and never looking back. South Oldham just edged out Ryle 71-66, in a close contest that kept fans on the edge of their seats.

Notre Dame secured a 52-35 victory over St. Ursula, highlighted by Holtzapfel’s impressive 20 points, while Middletown narrowly defeated Anderson with a final tally of 50-48.

Shroder continued their solid play with a 49-32 win over Northwest. Walnut Hills managed a convincing victory against Lebanon, finishing 57-37.

The bowling scene also saw some competitive action with Mason besting Springboro 2452-2217. Reading achieved a win against Taylor 2395-2215 to remain undefeated in the CHL.

As the season unfolds, teams will look to build on these results, making for an exciting and competitive high school sports landscape in the area.
