Vermont High School Fall Sports Season Kicks Off

This week marked the start of the 2024 Vermont high school fall sports season, with various teams hitting the fields and courts for some exciting action. Here’s a roundup of the latest scores, highlights, and upcoming games across soccer, field hockey, volleyball, and more!

Soccer Highlights

In a thrilling matchup, Maine narrowly defeated Vermont 3-2. Vermont had a strong start with a 2-0 lead thanks to an own goal by Maine in the 61st minute. However, Maine stormed back with goals from Julie Lossius, Kristina Kelly, and Jordane Pinette, the latter scoring the game-winner in the 88th minute. On a brighter note, Vermont’s team handily beat Stonehill 5-0, with standout performances by Maddie Priestly, who scored twice, and Ellie Reed, who had one goal and one assist.

Field Hockey Results
