Arlington High Schools Wrap Up Football Season with Exciting Matchups

Arlington High Schools Sports Update: A Busy End to the Season

Arlington, VA – This week, the local high schools have a slightly lighter schedule as the fall sports season nears its end. With the final regular-season football matches and some playoff events on the horizon, teams are gearing up for their last challenges of the season.

On Friday night, November 8, fans can look forward to an exciting football clash between two local rivals. The Wakefield Warriors will take on the Washington-Liberty Generals in an all-Arlington showdown, kicking off at 11 a.m. This match promises to be a great way to wrap up the football season for both teams.

The action does not stop there. On Saturday, November 9, the Bishop O’Connell Knights will host the St. Paul VI Catholic team at noon. Additionally, the Yorktown Patriots will travel to face Herndon, with their game starting at 1 p.m. The athletes have been training hard, and these final games are crucial as they look to end their seasons on a high note.

Meanwhile, the ice hockey season is ongoing at Washington-Liberty, and they are set to compete against West Potomac at the Prince William Ice Center, starting at 6:40 p.m. The Bishop O’Connell and Yorktown teams are also preparing to launch their new season very soon.

Moreover, in girls volleyball, the Bishop O’Connell Knights are aiming for victory in the Division I state private school championship against a tough opponent at The Steward School at noon. In field hockey, the Yorktown Patriots will participate in the Class 6 state tournament quarterfinal game, with the timing to be announced soon.

With various sports events lined up this week, the Arlington community is excited to support their local teams as they push through the final stretch of their fall seasons.
