In the warm-hearted city of Augusta, GA, a profound sense of loss has enveloped the community as they grapple with the news of Joshua Francis Jackson’s passing. The 45-year-old local fixture passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 5, 2025, at his home, leaving friends and family with cherished memories and a heart-wrenching void.
Born in Auburn, Alabama, in November of 1979, Joshua grew up with a natural charm that won over everyone he met. A proud graduate of Aquinas High School, class of 1997, Joshua became well known for his engaging personality and quick wit. Over the years, he built a solid career in customer service, dedicating over 15 years of his life to Kroger before moving on to Publix, where he continued to leave his mark. His coworkers and customers have fond memories of his genuine spirit and infectiously cheerful demeanor.
Joshua had a strong passion for life and was an avid fan of Auburn University sports. His loyalty to his team was evident, and anyone who crossed his path would be reminded of his love for the orange and blue. A man who thrived on family values, Joshua enjoyed golfing and was always up for a fun day filled with family-oriented activities. Alongside his love for sports, Joshua had a flair for culinary delights and was known as a true food enthusiast—he always had a recommendation for the best meal in town. Music was another of his great loves; he could often be found tapping his feet to his favorite tunes, bringing joy to every room.
Joshua leaves behind his beloved son, Aden Jackson, along with Aden’s mother, Christine Jackson. He was also the proud son of Janice Wagner and Marty Jackson, who are grieving alongside their beloved son. Joshua’s family extends to his maternal grandmother, Alice Mosley, and paternal grandfather, Horace T. Jackson, and he will be dearly missed by his sisters, Ashley Whipple and McKinley Waugh, as well as his niece, Alice Whipple. Numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins will also remember his warmth and laughter.
