Bloomington High School Football Weekly Report: Key Matchups and Highlights

Bloomington High School Sports Update: November 11-16

This week in Bloomington, High School girls’ basketball teams were active, showcasing some exciting matchups. Here’s a roundup of the games played through November 11 to November 16.

Bedford North Lawrence vs. Bloomington North

In a competitive game, Bedford North Lawrence defeated Bloomington North 57-42. The Cougars struggled without key players due to injuries, including starter Ashley Stegemoller. Despite missing some vital scoring, Kate Lehr managed to lead with a game-high 21 points. The Stars took control of the game early, leading 21-16 at halftime and gradually pulling away for the win.

Owen Valley vs. Greencastle

Owen Valley improved their record to 3-0 after a comeback victory against Greencastle, finishing with a score of 52-36. After a shaky start, the Patriots rallied in the second quarter, limiting the Tiger Cubs to just two points during that period. Hannah Bixler was remarkable for Owen Valley, scoring 20 points, while Aubrey Sparks added another 13.

Loogootee vs. Eastern Greene

Loogootee had a strong start to their season, overpowering Eastern Greene with a final score of 55-29. The Lions jumped to a commanding lead, ending the first half ahead 27-13. The defense tightened in the third quarter, allowing only one point from Eastern Greene.

White River Valley vs. Lighthouse Christian

In a lopsided matchup, White River Valley crushed Lighthouse Christian 91-13. This impressive victory marked the most points scored by WRV since achieving 99 points against Eminence in 2016. The Wolverines showcased their strength throughout the game, leading 56-10 at halftime.

As the girls’ basketball season kicks off, teams are keen to make a mark, and the competition is heating up in Bloomington. Stay tuned for more updates and results as the season unfolds!
