Bloomington High School Sports Update: Girls Basketball Highlights from Last Week

Bloomington High School Sports Recap – Nov. 18-23

This week in Bloomington, the local high school sports scene saw some exciting girls basketball action. The highlight of the week was Bloomington North’s victory over Martinsville with a final score of 52-47. The Cougars, despite missing key players Ashley Stegemoller and Lulu Frank, rallied together and displayed a team-oriented effort. Kate Lehr led the charge with 16 points, while Ava Robbennolt added 14 and Audrey Burton followed closely with 11. The team as a whole hit an impressive 10 three-pointers.

Martinsville, who is struggling with their record at 1-3, kept the game competitive. Chloe Jones and Addie Curless each scored 11 points as they attempted to close an early deficit, trailing 39-25 going into the fourth quarter. They made a strong push with four three-pointers but ultimately came up short.

Edgewood Mustangs also had an impressive showing against Bloomfield, securing a dominant 63-24 victory. Macey Crider was on fire, scoring 22 points while Ally Bland added 11 and Madi Bland contributed 10. The Mustangs took control early, leading 35-12 at halftime, showcasing their skills in this first road game of the season.

In other fixtures, Owen Valley Patriots displayed resilience to beat West Vigo 51-36. After a slow start, Owen Valley powered ahead with a 24-point second quarter, with Hannah Bixler scoring 20 points, helping secure their fourth win of the season and pushing their record to 4-1.
