Clinton’s House of Pizza Set to Reopen After Devastating Fire

Clinton Welcomes Back House of Pizza After Devastating Fire

In the charming town of Clinton, residents are eagerly gearing up for the return of one of their beloved eateries. The sun is shining bright with a lovely warm high of 80 degrees Fahrenheit today, perfect for enjoying pizza as the community comes together to support their local businesses. Just last August, the House of Pizza, located at 120 Musgrove Street, was devastated by a destructive fire, leaving many wondering, “What’s next?”

Finding a New Home

For Narmeen Abojamoos, the determined owner of the House of Pizza, the answer came pretty quickly. She decided to purchase the property right down the street at 112 Musgrove Street, which was once owned by Presbyterian College. Thanks to an agreement with the college, Abojamoos is now on track to reopen her restaurant by the end of this year.

“I can’t tell you how grateful I am for this opportunity,” Abojamoos shared with a bright smile. “First of all, I want to extend my thanks to the brave firefighters and first responders who rushed in to quench the fire and prevent it from spreading even further. I’ve missed my amazing employees and wonderful customers— they all feel like family to me. I’m also incredibly grateful to Presbyterian College for being such a supportive partner, as well as the entire City of Clinton community for the love we’ve received.”

A Win-Win for Everyone

The property sale actually made perfect sense, especially with the college already moving forward with relocating another eatery, Freshens, from downtown to campus. This left the door wide open for Abojamoos to make her move. Dan Hall, the interim vice president for finance and operations at Presbyterian College, highlighted this collaboration as a definite win for everyone involved.

“We heard some whispers that Narmeen might be interested in the property, so we reached out to her,” Hall explained. “She was eager to buy it, and we are all thrilled.” Although the fire left some smoke damage, the building has no structural issues, providing ample space for the new House of Pizza to flourish.

Passing of the Keys Ceremony

Just recently, the property transaction was completed with a short but meaningful “passing of the keys” ceremony. “Getting House of Pizza back in Clinton is fantastic for the city. It has a rich history of being a favorite spot for students, athletes, and parents visiting their kids at PC,” Hall stated.

Meanwhile, Dr. Anita Gustafson, president of Presbyterian College, expressed her delight in seeing the two local icons come together. “I am filled with gratitude for how the House of Pizza and Presbyterian College could collaborate to restore a part of the community that was lost during the fire. I wish Narmeen and her team the utmost success in this new endeavor.”

Abojamoos: Ready to Rise

Looking ahead, Abojamoos is brimming with enthusiasm and can’t wait to serve her much-missed customers again. “We are coming back better than ever. This town is full of heart, and I can’t wait to welcome everyone back through our doors,” she promised, embodying the spirit of resilience and community support. As residents take in the gorgeous weather, one thing is clear: the people of Clinton are ready to come together and celebrate the return of a cherished local landmark.

With the low hitting around 53 degrees Fahrenheit, as evening approaches, there’s a buzz in the air signifying that Clinton’s House of Pizza is on its way back. Here’s to fresh beginnings and delicious slices in the near future!
