Mr. Sheppard leaves behind a loving family, including his mother, Cheryl, and father, Thomas. He was also a devoted father to four children: Shyteria, Miana, Makarios, and Malcolm. His legacy lives on in them, as well as through his close-knit siblings, Chelsi, Cassidy, Tiana, and his brothers, Desmond and Zair. The warmth of his presence will be deeply missed by his maternal grandmother, Doris Sheppard Mincey, and paternal grandmother, Shirley Williams Adams, who have always been proud of his accomplishments.

In addition to his immediate family, DeCarlos is survived by six aunts, four uncles, and his beloved godmother, Etta J. The community is invited to join together for a Celebration of Life Service, which will take place on Friday, December 6, 2024, at 1:00 PM at the Fred B. Pratt Memorial Chapel. Prior to the service, there will be a public viewing held from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the same chapel, allowing everyone to pay their respects.
