Excitement Builds in Billings as High School Football Teams Prep for Championship Weekend

High School Sports Roundup: Exciting Football Semifinals and State Volleyball Championship

This weekend in Montana, the high school sports scene was buzzing with action as the semifinals of the football playoffs took center stage, along with the thrilling state volleyball tournament taking place in Bozeman.

The football playoffs showcased impressive performances across various classes. In the Class A semifinals, the Glacier Rams secured their place in the state championship after defeating Gallatin with a score of 47-26. Coach Grady Bennett praised quarterback Jackson Presley, saying, “He showed who he is and what he is tonight in a big-time way.” The Rams are now set to face their archrival Laurel at Herb Klindt Field next weekend.

Meanwhile, the Class B Tigers advanced to the championship game for the second consecutive year by overcoming Red Lodge. The players expressed their excitement, reflecting on the hard work put in since June and their focus on the upcoming game against Fairview.

In 6-man football, Box Elder triumphed over the Hot Springs Savage Heat in a tightly contested semifinal match. In another notable game, Helena Capital remains one win away from capturing its 13th Class AA state championship, showing the dominance of the Bruins this season.

On the volleyball front, excitement filled the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse in Bozeman as teams battled for state titles from November 14 to 16. The state volleyball tournament features multiple classes, and Helena High’s Coach Lindsey Day expressed her pride in coaching the talented Heuiser sisters.

As we look ahead, fans can eagerly await the Championship games, promising even more thrilling high school sports action.
