The incident unfolded around 10:50 a.m. at the Tractor Supply Company on Rolling Hills Circle, according to information released by the Easley Police Department and the Pickens County Coroner’s office.
The situation began when authorities received a call about a person making threats to a store manager after being confronted for trying to steal items from the store. Officers were swiftly dispatched to the scene to address the situation.
While en route, the police were informed that the suspect had fled to another location nearby on Rolling Hills Circle. Reports indicated that the suspect was holding a gas can and was threatening to pour gasoline on someone’s vehicle. This dangerous behavior raised immediate concerns for the safety of the public and prompted officers to act.

Despite the attempts at negotiation, the situation escalated further, leading at least one officer to discharge their weapon during the encounter. This resulted in the suspect being critically injured. Emergency medical services were called, but the suspect was pronounced dead at the scene.
