High School Sports Roundup from Friday

In Connecticut, Friday night saw some exciting high school sports action that kept fans on the edge of their seats. Here’s a look at the standout performances across various teams.

On the soccer fields, Jonathan Law dominated against Amistad, winning 3-0. Ivan Galicinao scored two goals while Kevin Cepetelli added another. Alex Rodriguez and Jakub Borowski contributed with assists, showcasing a strong team effort. Over at Morgan, the team also put on a stellar performance, defeating Cromwell 3-0. Jonny Gutierrez struck twice, with Esteban Orozco scoring once, supported by assists from Gavin Baptista and Emiliano Miranda.

Ridgefield played a tense match against Wilton, but managed to clinch the win with a score of 1-0 thanks to Ronan Hanley’s lone goal. Meanwhile, Trumbull also advanced in their match, beating St. Joseph 2-0, with Mateus Almeida netting both goals.

In a thrilling contest, Xavier edged past Hand with a score of 2-1. Diego Canellas was the standout performer, scoring both goals for Xavier, leading his team to victory.

On the girls’ side, Amity maintained their perfect season with an impressive 2-0 win over North Haven, thanks to two goals from Maggie Kershnar. Meanwhile, Cheshire overwhelmed Branford 4-0, with Ava Sink scoring twice and great support from her teammates.

In volleyball, Hamden fought hard against West Haven, ending up with a 3-2 victory. Leading the charge for Hamden were Maddy Rollinson and Bella Green with key plays throughout the match. In another match, North Branford took down Old Lyme with a score of 3-1.
