Geneva Bowling Team Secures 5-0 Sweep Over Wayne Central in Thrilling Match

Geneva High School Bowling Team Sweeps Wayne Central

Geneva, NY – On a chilly Wednesday afternoon at Sunset Bowl, the Geneva High School bowling teams put on an impressive display against Wayne Central, claiming decisive 5-0 victories in both boys’ and girls’ matches. The weather was cloudy with temperatures hovering in the low to mid-30s and winds blowing at ten to fifteen miles per hour, but the cold did not affect the players’ performance.

The highlight of the day came from junior Jayden Jackson, who led the boys’ team by bowling a stunning series of 659 pins, which was the highest for the match. “I just focused on my technique and tried to stay calm,” Jackson said after the game. His outstanding performance helped Geneva dominate Wayne Central.

Alongside Jackson, junior Alexander Dorrington contributed significantly with a series of 462 pins. Senior Eliciana Wiggins-Gomez was a standout for the girls’ team, scoring 427 pins. Senior Megan Gage and junior Peyton Taylor added to the team’s success with scores of 306 pins and 473 pins, respectively.

Wayne Central struggled to keep up, with Owen Cragg leading their boys’ team with a series of 575 pins, and Aubrey Cragg leading the girls’ team with 432 pins. Despite their efforts, it was not enough to take any wins away from Geneva’s strong performances.

Looking ahead, the Geneva teams will travel to compete against Mynderse Academy on January 8th at 4 p.m. Wayne Central will participate in a tournament at Roseland Bowl on December 26th starting at 9 a.m.

As the season continues, both teams are looking to build on their momentum from this successful match.
