Sports Roundup – Appleton Area High School Basketball Highlights

APPLETON – The Kimberly Papermakers put on a dominant performance against the Appleton West Terrors, resulting in an impressive win of 84-61 on their home court. Kimberly bounced out to a commanding lead, going into halftime with a 17-point advantage. Ben Grabner was the standout player for Kimberly, scoring 21 points, while teammates Landen Van Offeren and Mikey Wildes contributed 16 and 10 points, respectively. For Appleton West, Reid Hinkens led the scoring with 15 points, followed by Braylon Ise’s 13 points.

In another exciting matchup, the Neenah Rockets managed to hold off Kaukauna with a score of 66-56. Joey Daun shone for the Rockets with a game-high 17 points, while Benjy Bell and Luke Jung each added 13 points. Kaukauna’s top scorer was Keegan VanKauwenberg, who also excelled with 22 points.

The Freedom Irish cruised past the Panthers with a commanding display, led by Donovan Davis, who netted a remarkable 27 points. Drew Kortz also made his mark, scoring 20 points in the victory.

Fox Valley Lutheran emerged victorious over Denmark with a score of 72-63, with Lucas Papendorf scoring 25 points to lead the Foxes. This win brought their record to 4-1 overall.

Wrightstown Tigers also had a great night, defeating the Clintonville Truckers 80-62. Ethan Cyra was the standout player for Wrightstown, finishing with a career-high of 33 points.

The St. Mary Catholic Zephyrs overcame a halftime deficit against the Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah Resorters for an 86-80 win. Preston Fields pivotal for the Zephyrs, scoring 27 points.

In high school girls’ basketball, the Appleton East Patriots put on a clinic, running past Oshkosh North with a score of 78-40. Ella Sweeney led her team with 17 points, supported by Torie Neubauer’s 15 points.

With so much action happening across the Appleton area, fans can definitely look forward to more thrilling performances from our local high school teams in the coming weeks!
