High School Sports Roundup: Bowling Action in Local Matches

In Cincinnati, the excitement of high school bowling was on full display this week as teams competed fiercely in their opening matches.

The Oak Hills team started their season strong, defeating Lakota East with a score of 1755 to 1695. Leading the charge for Oak Hills was Maness, who rolled an impressive score of 319. This victory places Oak Hills at 1-0 in the Greater Miami Conference (GMC), while Lakota East falls to 0-1.

Reading also made a strong impression by taking down Mariemont with a score of 1678 to 1617. Chandler stood out for Reading with a top score of 340. This win puts Reading at 1-0 in the Cincinnati Hills League (CHL), leaving Mariemont at 0-1.

The Lebanon team had an outstanding performance against Little Miami, finishing with a score of 2095 to 1685. Fields led Lebanon with a score of 325, placing them at 1-0 for the season.

Walnut Hills showed their strength as well, decisively winning over Purcell Marian, 2068 to 1445. Williams contributed significantly to this victory with an astounding score of 474. With this win, Walnut Hills stands at 1-0, while Purcell Marian is left at 0-1.

In a subsequent match, Reading further demonstrated their prowess, defeating Mariemont again, this time with a score of 2280 to 1956. Massey led the team with an impressive score of 361. Reading remains undefeated at 1-0 in the CHL, while Mariemont slipped to 0-1.

Lebanon continued to dominate by besting Little Miami a second time, finishing the match with a score of 2674 to 2512, with Alvear scoring 457. Lebanon is off to a great start at 1-0.

Lastly, Walnut Hills secured another win, routing Purcell Marian with a score of 2309 to 1574, where Johnson led the team with a score of 392. This extends Walnut Hills’ record to 1-0, while Purcell Marian remains winless at 0-1.
