Exciting High School Football Action in Minnesota: Semifinals Recap and Finals Anticipation

This past Friday brought exciting matchups in various sports across Minnesota high schools, with teams competing fiercely in the state tournaments.
In the CI Division quarterfinals, Burnsville/Farmington/Lakeville dominated St. Cloud with a convincing score of 6-0. Dakota United also showcased their strength with a 3-0 win over Buffalo/Monticello/STMA. Park Center and South Suburban stepped up as well, with Park Center emerging victorious against South Washington County in a close 9-6 match, while South Suburban beat Stillwater/Mahtomedi 8-4.
In the PI Division, Dakota United continued to impress by shutting out St. Paul Humboldt 6-0. Minneapolis South powered through with an overwhelming 11-0 victory over South Suburban. Additionally, Park Center defeated Robbinsdale/Hopkins/Mound Westonka 6-2, and Rochester had a strong performance with an 8-3 win against Anoka-Hennepin.
Football also saw thrilling action with the semifinals taking place in several classes. In the Class 6A tournament, Maple Grove secured their spot in the Prep Bowl with a solid 26-14 win over Shakopee. The Class 5A semifinals featured Elk River edging out Chanhassen with a close score of 21-19. Totino-Grace continued their strong season with a 30-21 victory against Orono in the Class 4A bracket.
The Class 2A saw Jackson County Central defeat Kimball 34-26, while Staples-Motley triumphed over Chatfield with a score of 36-24.
In girls hockey, Anoka secured a hard-fought victory against St. Cloud, ending the game at 4-2. Delano/Rockford faced off with Luverne and came out on top after a thrilling overtime match, winning 3-2. Dodge County also had a nail-biter against Breck, winning by the same score in another overtime battle.
Eden Prairie showed dominance with a 6-4 win against Grand Rapids/Greenway, while Mankato East won 6-3 over St. Paul/Two Rivers. Moorhead shut out Buffalo with a decisive 6-0 victory, and Warroad concluded the night with a 3-1 win against Holy Family.
