High School Sports Roundup: Exciting Games from Across Minnesota

This past weekend, high school basketball and hockey teams across Minnesota delivered some thrilling matchups. Fans filled the stands, showcasing their school spirit as players battled it out on the courts and rinks.

Basketball Highlights

In boys basketball action, Cloquet triumphed over Chisago Lakes with a high-scoring game ending 95-88. Meanwhile, Monticello came out strong against Delano, winning 72-53. Northfield’s team managed to take down St. Peter with an 84-75 finish, showcasing a balanced offensive effort.

Other notable games included Princeton defeating Hermantown 95-87 and Randolph edging away from Mayer Lutheran with a close score of 92-86. South St. Paul easily handled Columbia Heights, finishing the game 88-55.

Girls Basketball Action

On the girls’ side, Blaine dominated Cambridge-Isanti with a solid 68-31 victory. Chanhassen also put on a show against Park Center, winning 80-51. The game between Hopkins and Benilde-St. Margaret’s was a nail-biter, resulting in a close 64-62 win for Hopkins.

In another competitive game, Minnehaha Academy showcased their strength against St. Paul Como Park, winning decisively with a score of 89-31.

Hockey Results

The boys’ hockey scene was just as exciting, with prior Lake defeating Farmington 4-2. Chanhassen shut out Andover with a 3-0 victory, while Lakeville North secured an 8-4 win over Rochester Century/John Marshall.

On the girls’ side, Eden Prairie clinched a close victory over Wayzata with a final score of 2-0. Farmington also exhibited grit in a thrilling overtime game against Prior Lake, ultimately winning 3-2.

As the winter season progresses, teams are gearing up for more exciting matchups and practices. Fans are encouraged to support their teams in the upcoming games as the competition heats up across Minnesota.
