In Pittsburgh, student-athletes are gearing up for a busy day on the ice and soccer fields on Monday, October 7, 2024. With an action-packed schedule, both fans and players are looking forward to a thrilling day of competition.
Hockey fans can catch several games across different classes. For Class 3A, Thomas Jefferson will take on Franklin Regional at Palmer Imaging Arena at 8:30 p.m. Central Catholic is set to face South Fayette at Mt. Lebanon Ice Center at 9:10 p.m.
In Class 2A, the matchups include Bishop McCort versus Norwin at Palmer Imaging Arena at 6:30 p.m. and Fox Chapel battling Baldwin at Ice Castle at 7:00 p.m.
Moving on to Class A, Mars will play Avonworth at Baierl Ice Complex at 7:00 p.m. Other exciting matches in Class A include Montour taking on Chartiers Valley and Shaler against Meadville, both set to start at 7:10 and 7:30 p.m., respectively.
On the soccer field, there are plenty of games to follow, especially in the boys’ categories. In Class 2A Section 2, Hopewell will meet Riverside at 3:30 p.m. Meanwhile, in Class A Section 4, Springdale will battle Trinity Christian at 7:00 p.m.
For the girls, Class 4A games include Armstrong facing Latrobe at 7:30 p.m. and Hempfield visiting Woodland Hills at 7:00 p.m.
High school sports enthusiasts are encouraged to check the schedules and come out to support their favorite teams as they compete for a chance at victory!
In addition to hockey and soccer, volleyball teams will also be in action. In Class 3A Section 3, Thomas Jefferson will take on Albert Gallatin at 7:30 p.m. West Mifflin is lined up against Gateway later that evening. Exciting matches will also take place in Class 2A Section 1, with Hopewell playing Quaker Valley at 6:00 p.m..
