This past weekend in Cincinnati, two high school volleyball teams made their mark in the first round of the KHSAA state tournament. The atmosphere was electric as teams vied for a chance to advance further in the competition.
In a tightly contested match, Notre Dame (32-3) faced off against Lexington Catholic (26-7). The first set was particularly thrilling, ending with a narrow score of 25-23 in favor of Notre Dame. Building on their momentum, Notre Dame continued to showcase their strength, winning the next two sets decisively with scores of 25-18 and 25-18.
Meanwhile, the match between Scott (30-11) and West Jessamine (24-17) provided fans with plenty of excitement. After splitting the first two sets, Scott dropped the third set 22-25, putting them in a challenging position. However, they managed to rally back, winning the fourth set 25-22. The fifth and final set was a nail-biter, but Scott secured victory with a score of 15-12.
