Springfield is gearing up for an eventful weekend of high school sports, with several exciting basketball games scheduled to take place. Tonight, Friday at 7 p.m., there are multiple matchups to look forward to.

The local teams will be hitting the courts, with Chatham Glenwood facing off against Normal U-High at the latter’s home ground. Additionally, Decatur Eisenhower will take on Rochester in what promises to be a competitive game. Decatur MacArthur will meet Lincoln, while Jacksonville will go head-to-head with Springfield High at Memorial Stadium. Meanwhile, Lanphier will travel to Quincy Notre Dame for another thrilling match-up.

On Saturday, fans can catch even more basketball action as Sacred Heart-Griffin faces Southeast at Memorial Stadium at 1 p.m. This matchup is expected to be a highlight of the weekend.

In the surrounding areas, several teams will also be in action tonight at 7 p.m. Auburn is set to play against Petersburg PORTA. Maroa-Forsyth will take on Pittsfield, and New Berlin will face Stanford Olympia. Williamsville is set for a matchup with Athens, and Pleasant Plains will host Riverton, although Riverton will forfeit this game.

Additionally, Greenville is scheduled to face Vandalia, Hillsboro will play against Pana, North Mac is up against Carlinville, and Piasa Southwestern will meet Staunton, all set for 7 p.m. Friday night action.

To wrap up the weekend, Saturday’s schedule includes Gillespie heading to Litchfield at 7 p.m. and Pawnee making the trip to Oblong at 7:30 p.m.

For fans who want to keep up with the games, there are several radio broadcasts available to catch the action live. Key matchups will be broadcasted through various channels, giving those unable to attend the games a chance to follow their favorite teams.
