High School Sports Roundup: Action-Packed Matches All Around

Bridgeport – It was an exciting day for high school sports as various teams took the field, showcasing their skills and determination. The fall season is in full swing, and here are some highlights from the latest matches.

In a standout soccer game, Abbott Tech dominated O’Brien Tech with a resounding score of 4-0. Danny Granizo led the charge with two goals, while Jordan Saetama and Ricardo Redrovan each added one. Goalkeeper Jason Rivera recorded a clean sheet, not facing a single shot on goal, while O’Brien’s Evan Beland made an impressive 15 saves.

Amity also had a stellar performance, defeating Sheehan 4-0. Matteo Santin scored all four goals for Amity, supported by plays from Ethan Weatherly and Luke Long. Will Keenan was solid in goal for Amity, allowing just one shot on target.

In a closely contested match, Bacon Academy battled Woodstock Academy, finishing in a 1-1 draw. Kaden Treat found the back of the net for Bacon, while Woodstock managed to equalize, making for an exciting finish.

Meanwhile, East Hampton secured a narrow victory over Haddam-Killingworth with a score of 1-0. Gavin Ledas scored the lone goal, assisted by Parker Gustine, while goalkeepers Shane Ruggiero and Ethan Pitts made several crucial saves to keep the scoreline intact.

In girls’ soccer, Bethel shut out Bunnell with a score of 4-0, where Laina Caffrey notched two goals. Mercy also had a strong outing, winning 3-0 against Cheshire, with Kaylee Benson leading the attack.

These matches highlight the competitive spirit of high school sports in the area, showcasing the talent and dedication of the young athletes. Fans are encouraged to keep an eye on their favorite teams as the season progresses!
