Lane Closures Coming Up on I-26 in Greenville, S.C.
Hey there, Greenville! If you’re planning on hitting the road soon, there’s some important news you should know about. The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) has announced some temporary lane closures that could affect your travel plans on I-26. So, here’s the scoop!
What to Expect
Starting on April 15 and lasting for about a month, traffic will be reduced to one lane in the eastbound direction between Laurens and Newberry Counties. Specifically, the lane closures will occur at mile marker 65 in Laurens County and mile marker 83 in Newberry County. SCDOT officials want to extend their thanks to everyone for their patience during this time as they work to improve our highways.
Why the Closures?

He said, “We recognize that any lane closure on our interstate system is going to cause some travel delays – that is why we have incentivized the contractor to get the work done early and we will assess heavy penalties for every day the project is behind.”
