Meadowdale High School Sports Recap

In Meadowdale on December 18, 2024, the Meadowdale wrestling team put on a strong performance against Lynnwood, winning the match with a score of 40-31. The night featured several standout moments and impressive wrestlers from both teams.

For Meadowdale, Melyk Valencia secured a victory with a swift pin over Eron Hecita in just 1:21. Ashton Myers also delivered a dominant performance, winning by major decision with a score of 13-0 against Lukah Washburn. Miguel Garcia and Mathew Sleipness followed suit, each earning victories through pins in 2:00 and 0:50, respectively. Christopher Ramirez and Logan Palmer each recorded technical falls, showcasing their skills throughout the match.

Lynnwood had some bright spots as well, with Eric Ly earning a close decision victory over Hector Castro, ending with a score of 10-6. Other notable performances included Edwardo Gonzalez and Dylan Por, who both won by forfeit.

Looking ahead, Meadowdale will face off against Shorecrest on January 7, 2025, at 7 p.m. Lynnwood’s next match will be against Everett on December 19, 2024, also at 7 p.m.

Boys Basketball Highlights

In boys basketball action, the Edmonds-Woodway Warriors dominated Archbishop Murphy, winning 72-36. Cam Hiatt led the way for the Warriors with 19 points, followed closely by Will Alseth with 17 points. D.J. Karl and Grant Williams each added double-digit scores, contributing to a powerful team effort.

Archbishop Murphy had some strong individual performances with Jack Seivers leading the team with 14 points and Ira Smith adding 11 points. Despite the loss, they look forward to improving in their next game.

Shorewood also had a solid victory over Meadowdale, winning 63-47. As the competition heats up, Meadowdale’s basketball team will aim for a better outcome against Mountlake Terrace on December 20, 2024, at 6:30 p.m.
