This week in Michigan, high school football teams took to the field for Week 5 of the season, delivering some exciting matchups and impressive performances. A total of 86 games were played, showcasing talent from schools across the state.
In standout performances, Advanced Tech dominated against Erie-Mason with a score of 54-26. Similarly, Airport showcased a strong offense, taking down Grosse Ile 42-6. Fans at the stadium saw Beal City crush Lake City 52-8, leaving no doubt about their competitive edge.
Notably, Petoskey achieved a remarkable victory, defeating Alpena with a score of 71-6. Meanwhile, Stephenson set a high score against Carney-Nadeau, with a shocking finish at 78-0, impressing everyone with their skill on both sides of the ball.
A few other notable scores included: Northview overpowering Thornapple Kellogg 72-24, and North Huron blanking Merritt with a score of 40-0. Some teams struggled, with Fruitport facing a tough defeat at the hands of Belding, with a final score of 58-7.
This week also included close contests such as Brother Rice narrowly defeating St John’s Jesuit 22-21, and Howell edging out Northville 27-12.

Nominations are now open for the Prep Athlete of the Week, which showcases talent from all high school sports, with voting set to start next Tuesday. The winner will be announced next Friday.
