Mountlake Terrace High School Completes Dominating Victory Against Lynnwood

Mountlake Terrace, WA – In a stunning display of skill and teamwork, the Mountlake Terrace Hawks decisively defeated the Lynnwood Royals with a score of 9-0 on Wednesday, October 23, 2024. This lopsided victory highlights the Hawks’ impressive performance in the recent match.

Leading the charge was Claire August, who scored an outstanding five goals and contributed three assists throughout the game. Her exceptional play left the Royals struggling to keep pace. Other contributors included Abby Schmicker, Ally Villalobos-VanSlooten, Sadie Parker, and Eva Gomez, who each added a goal to the tally.

The Mountlake Terrace defense also shined, with goalkeepers Jordyn Stokes and Daphne Ostberg combining for a shutout. This brings the Hawks’ record to 4-6-1 in league play and 4-8-1 overall, while Lynnwood’s tough season continues with a record of 0-10 in league and 0-14 overall.

Looking ahead, the Hawks are set to take on Archbishop Murphy on Thursday, October 24, at 7:30 p.m., while Lynnwood will face Shorewood at 7:00 p.m. at Shoreline Stadium.

In other sports news, the Mountlake Terrace swim team also put on a show, defeating Lynnwood with an impressive score of 103-65. Individual performances included Katherine Lombard, who took first in the 200 yard freestyle, and Lisa Beam, who prevailed in both the 100 yard butterfly and 500 yard freestyle.

The Hawks are gearing up for the Edmonds School District Championship Meet on Saturday, October 26, at 2:45 p.m. at Lynnwood Pool, while the Lynnwood swim team will face Mariner on the same day at 2:45 p.m.

In volleyball, Edmonds-Woodway managed to defeat Marysville Getchell with a score of 3-1, with standout performance from Neeva Travis, who recorded 22 assists. The Warriors hold a league record of 12-1 and will next face Mountlake Terrace.

This exciting week of high school sports showcases the dedication and talent of local athletes as they push through toward the end of the season.
