On Friday, fans witnessed a blend of talent and determination as the Wolves wrapped up their competitive season with a spirited display against the Emmanuel Lions and the Talladega Tornadoes.

Despite finishing third in the tri-meet with an overall score of 102.075, the Wolves brought their best game to the floor. The Emmanuel Lions clinched the top spot, impressively scoring 224.950, while the Talladega Tornadoes followed behind with 194.295.

A Competitive Spirit

The final meet was a showcase of hard work, team spirit, and improvement throughout the season. Right from the start, the Wolves showed they meant business. They kicked off the competition with the Compulsory event, where they pulled together a score of 16.050. It was clear that every team member had put in the hard yards leading up to this moment.

Next came the Acro event, where the team dazzled spectators with a score of 20.550. This included a particularly stellar performance in Heat 1 that left both fans and judges cheering. But the real highlight of the evening came in the Pyramid event, where Newberry shone brightest, earning their highest score of the meet at 23.450.

Outstanding Tumbling Routines

The Wolves really found their stride in the Tumbling event, amassing an impressive score of 28.875. Here, standout performances were delivered by the dynamic duo Emily Mullins and Makayla Brown in the Trio Pass, while Emma Pittser and StellaGrace Allen dazzled the audience in the Duo Pass. Hannah Ghalyโ€™s Aerial Pass and Makayla Brownโ€™s Six-Element Pass were also crowd-pleasers, rounding out a stellar evening for the team. Emily Mullinsโ€™ Open Pass was the cherry on top of an exciting tumbling showcase.

A Season of Growth

This closing meet not only marks the end of the 2025 season for Newberryโ€™s acrobatics and tumbling team but also underscores a year filled with growth and development. The Wolves kicked off their season with a debut performance against King (Tenn.), where they finished with a score of 74.775, and certainly made their presence felt in the Pyramid event, scoring 19.75 points.

As they progressed through the season, their hard work began to pay off. Against Lander University, they achieved a season-high score of 102.525, a breakthrough performance that showcased their rising potential. Even in a dual meet against Francis Marion, the team scored 98.800, making remarkable gains, especially in the Pyramid and Inversion events.
