LaRhonda Gibson, aged 47, and her 23-month-old son, Ketron Gibson Jr., were driving a Nissan sedan that was stopped behind a tractor-trailer. Both vehicles had slowed down due to traffic when a Dodge Ram pickup truck struck the back of the Nissan.

The impact was severe, pushing the Nissan into the rear of the tractor-trailer. Unfortunately, both LaRhonda and Ketron were pronounced dead at the scene. The identities of the victims were confirmed by the Lexington County Coroner’s Office shortly afterward.

The driver and passenger of the pickup truck were also involved in the crash and suffered injuries.
