Newberry, a town known for its warm hospitality and community spirit, was buzzing with excitement on October 23. The Newberry County Chamber of Commerce held their much-anticipated annual Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament at the lovely Country Club of Newberry, located at 414 Country Club Road. This event isn’t just about golf; it’s about coming together to support the Chamber’s mission and foster connections within the community.
The air was filled with laughter, camaraderie, and just a hint of competition as participants teed off on a beautiful fall day. Golf enthusiasts, ranging from seasoned players to those just looking for a fun day out, grabbed their clubs and hit the greens eager for a good time. The funds raised during this day of golf would directly support the mission of the Chamber of Commerce, which works tirelessly to enhance the economic growth and development of Newberry County.
Perhaps the most thrilling part of the tournament was the chance to win a Buick Encore provided by Stoke Trainor of Newberry. That’s right! One lucky player had the opportunity to drive off in this stylish SUV simply by making a hole-in-one. Talk about motivation to sink that perfect shot!
Among those making the day possible were Michelle Long, the executive director of the Newberry County Chamber of Commerce, and Stokes Trainor’s General Manager, Dale Dennis. These community leaders were on-site, mingling with participants and rallying support for the event’s purpose. Their enthusiasm for the community was palpable, showcasing the strong bonds that make Newberry such a special place.
But the fun doesn’t end there! Just around the corner on November 12, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes will host their own exciting event, the Capture the Flag Golf Challenge. This promises to be another splendid day of golfing at the Mid-Carolina Country Club, located at 3593 Kiblers Bridge Road, Prosperity.
Participants in this event will also have a shot at winning a Buick Encore with a hole-in-one shot, which is sure to raise the stakes and adrenaline on the course. Proceeds from the Capture the Flag Golf Challenge will go towards supporting the important initiatives of the Northern Midlands FCA. It’s another great opportunity for the community to come together, enjoy a day of sports, and contribute to a cause that uplifts the local youth.
If you missed out on the Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament, don’t worry! You still have the chance to get involved. Whether you’re a pro or just a beginner, these golf tournaments are designed to welcome everyone. So grab your clubs, invite your friends and family, and mark your calendars for the upcoming Capture the Flag Golf Challenge!
