Hey, Newberry! Gather ‘round because we have some exciting news about our very own middle school basketball teams. If you’ve been keeping an eye on the courts lately, you’d know that the Newberry Middle School basketball talent is making waves, and they both deserve a huge round of applause!
First up, we have the girls’ basketball team, which has been busy dominating the game with an impressive 5-1 record. On December 19th, they faced off against White Knoll Middle School and delivered a stunning performance, winning the game with a score of 27-13. It’s clear that these talented young ladies have put in a lot of effort during practice, and it’s paying off!
The girls are showing what real teamwork looks like, averaging about 30.5 points per game. Also, let’s not forget about their rock-solid defense! They are allowing only 15 points per game on average. This has led to an exciting average margin of victory by about 20.2 points per game. Talk about a strong showing! They are definitely proving that hard work and dedication lead to success on the basketball court.
Now, let’s shift our focus to the boys’ basketball team, which is currently riding high with an unbeaten 6-0 record. They recently went head-to-head with the boys from White Knoll Middle School and came out on top with a staggering 57-29 victory. This might just be the start for an amazing season for these young athletes!
The boys’ offense is firing on all cylinders, averaging 56.2 points per game. That’s some serious scoring power! On the defensive side, they are allowing an astounding average of only 19.6 points per game to their opponents. This impressive combination of offense and defense has given them an average margin of victory of 36.5 points per game. When it comes to basketball, this team seems to be in a league of its own!
As the calendar swings towards the New Year, both the girls’ and boys’ teams will be taking a break for the next few weeks. This is a chance for the players to recharge and come back even stronger.
