According to Sheriff Lee Foster, the sirens were activated under mysterious circumstances this past weekend. He described his own adventures in the yard, enjoying the lovely weather, when suddenly the air was pierced by a loud, unfamiliar noise. “It was a beautiful sky — lovely temperature,” he said, reminiscing about the moment. “I was in my yard, and I heard it, and I said, ‘Goodness, what is going on?'”
As concerned citizens flooded the 911 center with calls, Sheriff Foster rushed to find out what had happened. “I called dispatch, and they told me they had just been bombarded with calls because people heard the siren as well. It was clear something wasn’t right.”
