Kicking It All Off

The festivities will officially kick off on Monday, February 3, from 3 to 5 PM in the Springs Great Room. Expect a lively Kick-off Celebration filled with music and fellowship, welcoming students, faculty, and the wider community. It’s a perfect opportunity to gather together, enjoy some cheerful tunes, and get hyped for the month ahead!

Dress for Success

The Multicultural Student Union is diving in to show off some style on the same day. They are sponsoring a “Dress for Success Day,” inviting students to come dressed in their best professional attire, so be sure to dress to impress!

Movie Night Magic

On February 4, grab your popcorn and take a seat as the Movie Night series presents “6888,” starring Kerry Washington, at 7 PM in Kuhne Auditorium. This gripping film tells the inspiring story of the only all-Black, all-female battalion sent overseas during World War II. It’s not just a movie; it’s a celebration of courage and resilience!

Voices of Change

Continuing the momentum, on February 6 at 7:30 PM, an open discussion titled “Voices of Change” will be led by A.Bevy in Neville 106. This event promises to bring forward meaningful conversations about the transformative power of activism and community involvement.

Super Bowl and Service

Mark your calendars for February 9 as the Multicultural Student Union hosts a Super Bowl Watch Party at the MSU House beginning at 6:15 PM. Bring your game face and enjoy the biggest football game of the year with friends!

A Convocation to Remember

One of the high points of this month-long celebration is the 2025 Dr. Booker T. Ingram, Jr. Convocation, slated for February 12 at 7 PM in Edmunds Hall. This year, the keynote speaker is none other than Dr. Tonya M. Matthews, the president and CEO of the International African American Museum in Charleston, South Carolina. With her strong background in advocating for inclusive education and social entrepreneurship, attendees are in for an enlightening evening!

Community Service and Recognition

The spirit of giving continues on February 13 at 5:30 PM in Neville 318. In partnership with PC’s Hispanic Appreciation Organization, a community service project will be held to make gift baskets for Thornwell residents in honor of Valentine’s Day. It’s a wonderful way to spread love and joy!

Celebrating with Sports and Spirituality

On February 15, join the celebration at the Blue Hose Women’s Basketball game, starting at 2 PM in the Templeton Center. The recognition of Black History Month will carry on through sports and community spirit. Later that evening, the MSU House will host an 80s-90s Party beginning at 11 PM – time to dance the night away!

Worship and Wonder

As the month wraps up, a Campus-Wide Worship Service is scheduled for February 17 at 7 PM in the Springs Great Room, featuring the guest preacher, the Rev. Gail Henderson-Belsito. And don’t miss out on the exciting opportunity for select students to travel to Greenville’s Peace Center on February 18 for a performance by the famous Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater.
