Before we dive into the stellar nominees, mark your calendars! Voting for the Player of the Week closes at 11:59 p.m. PT, on Sunday, Feb. 16. The excitement doesn’t stop there; the winner will be proudly announced in the following week’s poll, keeping the anticipation high for fans, coaches, and players alike.

Meet the Outstanding Candidates

This week, an impressive roster of ten candidates has emerged, each showcasing remarkable skill and heart on the court. One standout is the freshman Rogers, who has been making waves that seem more aligned with a seasoned pro. In a recent game, she scored a phenomenal 24 points, along with 6 steals and 4 assists, leading her Redhawks to an astonishing 81-20 victory against West Florence. Following this electrifying performance, she kept her momentum going by dropping 14 points against Sumter, helping her team to yet another dominating win, 58-19.

Another fierce competitor is Lee-Sutton, who lit up the scoreboard with 22 points, 6 steals, and 6 assists during a crushing 65-11 victory over Newberry. As a Mississippi signee, she truly made her mark again with a sharp performance, scoring 24 points and adding 5 rebounds and 3 steals in a solid win against Ben Lippen, which ended with a score of 55-27.

Then there’s White, who proved her offensive prowess by scoring 20 points on an impressive 10-of-14 shooting while also grabbing 10 rebounds in the Vikings’ notable 59-19 victory over Eastside. Doctor was nothing short of sensational, scoring 23 points in a resounding 52-26 win against Hannah-Pamplico, and then followed it up with a jaw-dropping 34 points, 18 rebounds, on 16-of-24 shooting during her team’s remarkable 87-21 victory over Cheraw.

More Talent on Display

Watkins shined bright with her spectacular contribution of 33 points, along with 14 rebounds and 5 assists in an 82-21 rout of Central. Foster helped propel the Diamond Hornets to victory, contributing 16 points and 5 rebounds in their 61-30 win against South Florence.

In what can only be described as a standout performance, Assemian brought her A-game with 29 points, 11 rebounds, 4 steals, and 2 blocks during a competitive 63-48 win over Wren. We also can’t forget Waite, who scored 23 points and had a great all-around game, contributing 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals, and 3 blocks in her team’s impressive 68-37 victory against Stratford.

Wrapping up our list of nominees, we have a senior power forward who made headlines by scoring 22 points and snagging an astounding 17 rebounds (with 14 of those being offensive) in a commanding 70-31 win over Gilbert.
