Newberry Sees Multiple Guilty Pleas in Recent Court Session

In the city of Newberry, several individuals recently entered guilty pleas during a session of General Sessions Court, presided over by Circuit Court Judge Frank R. Addy Jr. The court addressed various cases ranging from domestic violence to drug possession, reflecting an array of criminal activities within the community.

Tomeze Mondale Wise

One of the notable cases involved Tomeze Mondale Wise, age 39, who faced charges of second-degree domestic violence. Wise was sentenced to a total of three years in prison, with the requirement to serve 30 days before the balance of his sentence is suspended, allowing for probation over the next three years.

Jessica Marie Kelsey

Jessica Marie Kelsey, 41, found herself in court for a first offense of possession of a controlled substance. She received a sentence of four days, which was served in jail as time already served.

Michael Seth Horton

Meanwhile, Michael Seth Horton, 33, faced more severe consequences for first-degree domestic violence. His sentence was set at nine years in prison, to run concurrently with a probation violation, with credit given for 115 days already served.

Mykari Rashad Means

Another case involved Mykari Rashad Means, 28, who was charged with failing to stop for a blue light. Means received a three-year sentence that requires serving 52 days, after which the rest of his sentence will be suspended on probation for three years.

Reginald Wade Mayers and Keith Levar Joiner Jr.

Reginald Wade Mayers, 30, was sentenced to 53 days in jail for breaking into a motor vehicle, with time served already noted. In a similar vein, Keith Levar Joiner Jr., 29, received a three-year sentence for second-degree domestic violence, with the balance of his time suspended after serving 76 days.

Drug-Related Offenses

The court also handled several drug-related cases. John Austin Jackson, 33, was sentenced to nine days for first offense possession of methamphetamine. Other individuals like Nicklaus Chase Bevis, 23, and Robert Antonio Marshall, 65, were each sentenced to 77 days and 22 days respectively, both for first offense drug possession.

Other Notable Cases

A range of sentences were handed out for various other crimes. Rondarius Rasheed Davis, 25, received a significant sentence of 20 years for assault and battery in a high and aggravated manner. Credit was given for 686 days already served in jail.

On another note, Myron Lee Gallman, 49, faced charges relating to stolen metals and was handed five years in prison, serving the first two days before the rest is suspended with probation. Antanesha Tysheena Hawkins, 31, was sentenced to three years for possession of crack cocaine, while also facing charges of child cruelty.

Summary of Sentences
