As the leaves begin to change, the 2024 Vermont high school fall sports season has kicked off, bringing with it exciting matches across various sports. From soccer to field hockey, schools across the state are battling it out for wins and bragging rights.
In a thrilling soccer encounter, Burlington defeated Champlain Valley with a score of 4-2. Burlington’s Fields DeShaw was a standout, scoring two goals, including one from the penalty spot. Quinn Moore also contributed with a goal, helping his team build a substantial lead.
Mount Mansfield claimed a strong 3-1 victory over South Burlington, with Avery Gilbert scoring twice. Meanwhile, Winooski secured a solid win against Oxbow, finishing 3-1, thanks to Ankit Acharya‘s two goals.
In field hockey, Hartford overcame Burr and Burton in a competitive match, ending with a score of 5-2. Amaya Argos and Madison Barwood each added to the scoreboard for Hartford.
The volleyball scene is heating up as teams are just getting started, and fans are eagerly looking forward to upcoming matches. Schedules for next week include some exciting matchups such as Middlebury at Champlain Valley and St. Johnsbury hosting Colchester.
