2024 Vermont High School Fall Sports Season Kicks Off with Thrilling Football Action

Vermont high school sports fans are buzzing as the 2024 fall season kicks off with exciting matches across several sports. The soccer fields, volleyball courts, and playing greens are filled with action as teams look to make their mark in this early part of the season.

In soccer, the Vermont team delivered a strong performance against UMBC, winning 3-1. Star player Kate Bossert scored twice, marking her fourth career game with two goals. Alongside her, Bailey Ayer added a goal and an assist, bringing her to the top of the conference with nine goals this season as Vermont improved their record to 7-3-3.

Another standout match saw Vermont dominate Dartmouth with a 7-0 victory. Sophia Drees shone bright with three goals and an assist. The team’s solid play has pushed their overall record to 4-6 after two straight shutouts.

In field hockey, Harwood edged out Montpelier with a narrow 1-0 win thanks to a goal from Maisy Gendimencio. Camille Edgecomb made an impressive 19 saves to keep the team in the game.

Over in cross-country running, schools also kicked off their competitive seasons. Milton showcased their strength in soccer with a staggering 7-0 win over Vergennes, featuring three goals from Ciann Tomasi.

As for volleyball, South Burlington claimed victory over Burlington with a clean sweep, winning 3-0 in sets. Their powerful performance was marked by consistent teamwork and impressive serves.
