Waterloo High School Volleyball Teams Shine in Section V Class B Tournament Action

Waterloo, NY – In a thrilling evening of high school volleyball, the No. 5 Waterloo team faced off against the No. 12 Palmyra-Macedon on Thursday in the Section V Class B quarterfinals. Fans gathered at Waterloo High School, eager to witness the energetic competition. Despite a chance of morning showers and cloudy skies outside, the atmosphere inside the gym was electric.

Waterloo managed to secure a victory over Palmyra-Macedon, winning the match in four sets with scores of 25-20, 25-19, 22-25, and 25-15. Waterloo senior Natalie Jones stood out with her impressive performance, making crucial hits at the net, while Palmyra-Macedon’s junior Alana Rease worked hard to block those attacks. However, it was Waterloo’s teamwork and strong plays that allowed them to control the match.

In another notable match on the same night, the No. 6 Mynderse Academy took on No. 11 Rochester Prep at Seneca Falls Middle School, winning decisively in straight sets with scores of 25-7, 25-9, and 25-22. Key players for Mynderse included Cheyenne Mangum with 9 aces and 9 assists, and Kyle Kolbash who contributed 5 kills along with solid defensive plays.

This victory allows both Waterloo and Mynderse to advance to the quarterfinals, where Waterloo will face Aquinas Institute and Mynderse goes head-to-head with Wellsville. Matches are scheduled for Saturday, November 2, with the times and locations still to be determined.

As the postseason progresses, teams are excited to keep pushing forward and chasing after the championship. More scores and updates are expected soon, and teams are encouraged to report their results as quickly as possible.
