Welcoming Rev. Rilla Holmes as the New Rector of All Saints Episcopal Church in Clinton

Welcoming a New Leader: Rev. Rilla Holmes Joins All Saints Episcopal Church in Clinton

Clinton, South Carolina, is buzzing with excitement this week! The community has warmly embraced Rev. Rilla Holmes, who has recently taken the helm as the new Rector at All Saints Episcopal Church. With her impressive background and welcoming spirit, she is sure to bring fresh energy and enthusiasm to the congregation.

Rev. Rilla’s Journey to Clinton

Growing up in the Diocese of Alabama, Rilla has been a cradle Episcopalian her entire life. After tying the knot with her husband, Akil, in 1986, they began building their lives together. The couple is proud parents to their son, Vijay, who is part of their lovely family unit. Rilla’s journey eventually led her from the Diocese of Connecticut to the Diocese of Upper South Carolina in 2002, where she has been a dedicated leader in various capacities.

A Key Role at Trinity Church

Before stepping into her new role at All Saints, Rev. Holmes spent seven fulfilling years at Trinity Episcopal Church in Abbeville, South Carolina, serving as the Priest-in-charge. During her time there, she honed her abilities in shepherding a congregation and fostering a sense of community. It’s no surprise that she is now ready to spread her wings at All Saints!

A Community Church with Open Arms

One aspect of All Saints that particularly drew Rilla to the church is its strong ministry of hospitality. With her heart set on making everyone feel welcome, she is eager to extend that warmth to individuals and families within the community who might be searching for a spiritual home. “It’s all about creating a loving and inclusive environment,” she shared in a recent conversation.

Connecting with the Community

Mother Rilla is committed to being accessible and engaging with her flock. She will keep office hours on Tuesdays, giving anyone in the congregation a chance to talk or seek support. Additionally, she will make visits on Thursdays, engaging with people on a personal level. This hands-on approach is sure to resonate well with both current members and newcomers alike.
