WPIAL High School Football Championships Set for November 23 at Acrisure Stadium

In Pittsburgh, excitement is building as high school football teams gear up for the WPIAL playoffs championship games this upcoming Saturday. Fans from all over the area are looking forward to an action-packed day at Acrisure Stadium. Four championship matchups are scheduled, showcasing some of the best talent in the region.

The day kicks off at 11 a.m. with the Class A championship where Fort Cherry (13-0) will take on Clairton (13-0). Both teams come into the game unbeaten and are expected to battle fiercely for the title.

At 2 p.m., the Class 2A championship will see Seton LaSalle (11-0) face off against South Park (11-1). The stakes are high, and both squads have shown strong resolve throughout the season.

Later, at 5 p.m., Class 3A takes center stage as Avonworth (10-3) goes up against Central Valley (7-5). This matchup promises to deliver thrills as these teams vie for supremacy.

The final game of the day is the Class 5A showdown featuring Pine-Richland (11-1) versus Peters Township (11-1), starting at 8 p.m. Both teams are on fire, and spectators are eager to see who will emerge victorious.

In addition to the championships, the PIAA playoffs also kick off this Friday with several key matchups across various classes. Central Catholic (10-2) takes on State College (11-1) in Class 6A, while Thomas Jefferson (12-0) faces off against Clearfield (12-0) in Class 4A, both at 7 p.m. These games will be critical as teams fight for a spot in the next round.
